Like most people, when I start on a realm I want more than one character. I’ll have a good DPS, a tank, a healer, a twink, and a coke mule….no wait…ah mule…either way he’s the one with all the loot.
So what’s a good toon for grinding? I hear this question a lot, and there’s no real BEST class. But there are some that are better than others.
So before we look at what I’d consider some of the best, let me first point out why some aren’t good. You’ll want to be able to kill mobs, loot and move on as fast as possible. So any class that you have set aside for healing won’t be a very efficient, so we can rule them out.
After we rule them out there’s a lot of characters that you could use for grinding, and some are a little better than others, but pretty much any class can grind.
But if you’re rolling simply for the purpose of a good grinder there’s a few you should seriously look at.
Warlocs and Hunters are two of the most favorable grinding classes. Their solo play style will allow you to solo instances that you couldn’t with other classes, so you’ll be able to grind higher instances, and make more gold if you’re an instance grinder.
Rogues are another really good option, especially if you’re an enchanter. Once you’re grinding instances you’ll be able to stealth in to the boss, kill em, and Disenchant the item. This is a method that several players are able to make up to 600g an hour! Druids are also able to use this technique.
Mages and Palladins are a few of my favorite, for their AOE. It’s not only good for running guildies through instances, but there are several instances that they can do in one pull…and then taking longer to loot than it took to take the whole thing down.
So what’s the BEST? What do I recommend? I’d say roll a toon that you’ll enjoy playing, and make the gold the best way that class can. Even if you prefer to have a healer as your main, there’s still a lot of ways that you can make gold.

I think it would have to be a hunter.. They have pets good for tanking and also ranged so you dont take much damage.. you can take two people at once If your farming Primal fire in Lets say Nagrad

I agree..Hunters are the best class for grinding,not only do you pets that can deal alot of damage your pet can also hold agro so you are free to unload your arsenal of attacks at the target…BM spec is best for this…I would also take up Enchanting but not before lvl 40 as when u reach this level u will be able to run all the low level instances solo and DE all the greens and blues that drop and sell the excess on the AH. Along with this profession i would take up mining as the mats are always in high demand

i dont remember leavin comment on 16th of october i was doin update then for wow but anyway ppl say grinding is faster than questing THERE WRONG! belive it or not questing is much faster if u know wat quests 2 do but if u want 2 go grinding thats ur choice!

Likewise, Hunters are good for grinding instances. One of the techniques i find to be most effective for speed killing would be the Eyes of the Beast + Exploding Trap combo.
Simply go into EOTB mode, collect aggro with your pet (preferably you have Dash trained on your pet) then bring the angry mob back to you. While still commanding the pet, run it past your Hunter, then lay the Exploding Trap. Now cackle maniacally while the mob burns in front of you.

That video brings up a good point about hunters…get a tank pet! I loved my rare spawn bear…Bjarn Bjorn somethin like that…I had it for a REALLY long time, then I picked up a gorilla… loved em both, but once you can get a gorrilla…do it, just remember to carry enough fruit in your bag to feed it.

hey ive been all the “good” grinding classes and the best is hunter because the pet does all the work while ur taking a piss and still hitting the monster with autoshot…. take the hunter and take no damage.

mage is the best in my opinion… I think this because they have amazing aoe skills and they take out there enemys fast and easy. A good mage wont die aften but thats another reason to have a pally. They are good aoes and good healers. Id have to pick mage or the pally on this 1.

mages and paladins are really good, especially when you’re runnin guildies through a low level instance. Just run in, grab aggro, and aoe.
